Its been awhile... much has happened the last wks.. lots of fun activities! but i won't write abt them, kinda difficult for me to look at the computer screen rite now hahah... haiz... yesterday, while playin soccer, i injured my right eye pretty badly... I was through on goal with juz the keeper to beat, but my side-footer ricocheted off the keeper's shin and slammed right into my eye! It was so fast that i didn't even have time to shut my eyelids! i actually felt the ball impact my eye... it didn't hurt tho.. definitely not as painful as being hit in the nose or the balls! haha.. but i couldn't open my eye for a good 5 mins.. and when i finally could, all i saw was darkness.. I finally understood wat it meant to 'see stars' haha.. strangley only 2 questions bothered me at that time. 1. How the hell did the ball hit me so hard and fast? i only side-footed it man.. dats like juz a tap! baffled... 2. How my contact lens stayed intact and inplace? amazed. hahaha.. Anyways it took abt 10-15mins for me to finally be able to see.. Unfortunately, i still couldn't regain complete vision, there was still a little bit of a shadow/haziness around the lower portion of my field of vision. Similar to wat we wud expierence from a bright camera flash, juz dat mine never faded off. So i promptly headed home and got my dad to check my eye. He couldn't find any serious damage to my eye so we decided to juz let time take its course and see if the shadow disappears. Well.. i woke up this morning and still no improvement. So i went to see an eye specialist. From the inital tests he did, he said some of the muscles from the top of my eye were torn, so my pupil is sagging down a little lower den normal. And he warned me dat when it heals, there's a risk of scaring etc.. and it mite affect the drainage of the eye in future, causing an increase in eye pressure which will lead to glaucoma. So he advised me to go for regular check-ups in future, at least once a yr, for life baby! oh mans... After that, he asked the nurse to administer some drops to dilate my pupil so he could check my retina for any damage, juz to be safe. So i waited outside for a while before the second examination. Boy was i in for more bad news.. sigh.. haha.. He discovered some areas of bleeding in the eye.. there were quite a number man.. he showed me the pics/videos afterwards. There was also some swelling behind the retina.. which explains the 'shadows'.. So now with the new discoveries, coupled with my relatively high myopia, i now risk tearing/detaching my retina! which is serious shit! I'm now at risk of two problems dat can lead to blindness!!! dunno wat to say man... And cuz of all this, i hav to cancel my wakeboarding for tmr, badminton on thurs.. i can't even go to the gym! foiled my hopes of ever sticking to my 3x a wk gym regime! oh mans.. absolutely no physical activity were his orders.. and he said it could take up to weeks for me to regain full vision! total bummer! and if my condition worsens, i mite not be able to go australia! oddly, as devasting as it sounds, it didn't really hit me as bad news haha.. stayin in s'pore awhile longer wouldn't be all dat bad heheheh... some of u mite noe why.. haha.. but in all seriousness, such a reality wud be castatrophic on my tertiary plans. sigh.. so suay.. I'll be goin for my next review on wed. wish me all the best!
i really should have scored!!!
