Yay! finally got my internet set-up! the past 10 days have been pretty boring with the world wide web! haha.. anyways, i'll like to start defending adelaide, cuz i really love it here. the weather is soooo much better den s'pore! i'll take cold weather or scorching sun over 100% humidity anytime! hahah.. yeah.. so tho i've said its been boring.. its not so much the city's fault. its juz dat its the exam period rite now, so pple juz hav been stayin indoors studyin! Thus, a bit hard to make more frens or go out with existing ones. Apart from that, adelaide is a very nice place! I like where im stayin rite now, apart frm its costs! esp the cost of doin laundry! and the dryer sucks! so now i handwash my whites. The best thing abt my accom is that it has a good mix of international students. take my hse for example, im housing with 1 american 1 indian and 1 thai. all guys tho! yeah.. actually i requested for co-ed apartments but they ran out of space so the upgraded me for free to a townhouse with en suite! so now i get my own bathroom and i can walk ard in my boxers like i did in sinagpore! All my hsemates are great, nice peeps, we get along fine. Only prob is the american and his fellow american frens. They always hang out in my living room/kitchen and end up trashing the place. which is extremely inconsiderate! Dan is a nice guy but when he gets together with his fellow exhange students, all hell breaks loose. Its becoming a huge prob becuz, the mess they make really turns me off. So meals have been a prob since i can't or rather won't cook. plus the fridge is completely packed with stuff, so i can only buy dry goods. Hence, i've been eating out 95% of the time which is very taxing on the wallet haha. Thankfuly, their exhange last one sem so they'll be gone in like 20 days! Maybe den will i cook meals on a regular basis.
However, my life in bradford college isn't as ideal as i wished. On my first day, i was stunned to see 99.9% of students being yellow-skin asians!!! I had expected a better mix of international students.. sianz.. in the end.. majority frm mainland china or hk! arrggghhh.. all i hear is mandarin or cantonese! so i was glad i spotted a russian so spoked with him for the 1st day of orientation. He's only 16 la! but i heard there's one china girl who's 15!!! wat r these pple doin in uni at their age! ridiculus! It was only the 3rd and final day of orientation that the 5 s'poreans (includes one m'sian who studied in spore) finally serendipitously bunped into one another! haha.. u hav no idea how high-spirited i was that day... unfortunately, none of them r in my class! damn suay la.. stucked with the china and hk pple. haiz... nvr mind.. maybe dat'll aid my studying, less distracted in class.. so far my teachers have been good.. except my stats tutor! he cannot teach! hopefully my econs tutor will not be like him! will find out tmr... So far so wasted.. the gd teachers all teach the subjs i do not need help in.. oh wells...

My last wkend in s'pore (for the near future at least) flew by real fast! but first, lets start with thurs. Met up with xiao hui, finally someplace else besides jp swensens! haha.. went to eat at maxwell food centre, my first time there believe it or not! She had kuey chap while i ate yu pian mi fen, which was pretty good. no wonder quite a few were eating dat as well. after dat we went to marina square, tried looking for pencil cases, but didn't like any we saw. Finally settled at some chill-out place xiaohui suggested where they have a live band playing mandarin songs. The place is pretty small, but i wud say its quite a nice chill out place, reasonable pricing as well. but its mandarin songs, so gotta go with the right crowd haha. friday was my most tiring day. i left my hse before lunch, went to pick up claire, den we headed to thai express at marina sq (again) for lunch. Incidentally we both love thai food haha. During our chit-chat, she asked wat presents i finally got for teresa. Turns out she wanted to read 'Night' as well and dat she was currently reading 'A million little pieces', which INCIDENTALLY i bought along with my two copies of 'night' (one for myself one for teresa) juz a few days prior at borders. hmmm.. but shouldn't read too much into such coincidences huh? hahaha. anyways we tried times bookstore at marina but they didn't sell the book, and she also couldn't get nice flowers for a fren.. juz wasn't her day she lamented. haha.. fri the 13th la i guess haha. haiz.. the date went well except for one crucial aspect. i disgraced myself by not taking a photo with her!!!! i mean i brought a camera for god's sake! all pre-planned! dun bother asking me y i didn't cease the chance, i've been asking myself as well haha.. worse thing was, the camera was in plane sight most of the time, i wonder wat she must have thought. sigh.. at times my stupidity gets the better of me! arrghh.. anyways.. this thurs will be my chance for redemption! hehehe.. anyways she had to head home to prepare food for a potluck so i sent her home ard 4. I had offered to help with the preps, but she said her mum wud mind.. it was a good try tho on my part haha. my nxt appt was 730pm so decided to head home first since i was driving. So at 730, i went to dine at fish&co's glasshouse and den desert at swensens with my ang 2 army mates. After dat i went to catch 'the departed' with my soccer buddies at cine. told u friday was real tiring.. got home only at 3am haha. it was a good movie, infact i wud rate it higher if not for the fact dat its the hollywood remake of infernal affairs.. So gotta deduct some pts since the plot ain't dat original. Its still a really gd movie tho, incoporated the classic moments frm infernal affiars while still retaining the distictive hollywood style. jack nicholson was fantastic! but the infernal affairs trilogy is still tops for me. anyways prior to the movie, i had real trouble gettin a parking lot. initally, i tried the small one juz opp cine. i wasn't waiting long till i spotted some guy driving a covertible abt to leave. so i switched by hazard to a right signal to show my intent while waiting for the bugger to slowly wind down his roof. Low and behold, this SUV comes speeding past over-takin 3 cars including myself to steal the lot! i was flabbergasted! i kept sounding my horn, boodly driver wudn't make eye contact while his gf juz kept giving me the 'pai say' look. wtf man. So wanted to scratch his car, but gettin a parkin lot was more impt so i left to try the one outside somerset mrt, which was futile as well.. in the end had to park at cine itself. I tried to see if the SUV was still ard up frm cine's windows but unfortunately it wasn't ard. basket. really pissed me off! Anyways, i went for dim sum buffet lunch with my ACMTL army frens the nxt day. was afraid i wudn't be able to wake uip.. considering fri was so tiring haha... thankfully i did, tho i did reach a little late hehehe.. i couldn't really whack the buffet cuz i ate alot on fri, so wasn't all dat hungry. Later we went to pay one of our frens a visit. I juz found out he has cancer, stage 4. haiz.. yet another.. he lost a lot of weight, but he's getting better.. able to walk more now. Chit-chatted till i had to leave for teresa's party. Not surprisngly i was the first, well excluding her aunts and her bf stephen. So i tried being of some help, but stephen pretty much had everything done oredi. i didn't noe anyone else at the party, so ended up hanging with her AC classmates, whom i've met maybe once or twice? So i guess i wasn;'t dat bored in the end. I had overheard them complain of headaches from sniffing, so i immediately asked," wat did u'll get? wat perfume??" hahaha.. ever since she made it known on her blog, i was worried she mite get same prezzies! Thankfully, they got the anna sui one, which i actually preferred but decided not to get cuz i was lazy to walk back to wisma.. hey i was shuttling to-and-fro deciding on anna sui or ferragamo ok? haha.. the impt thing is she got both the fragrances! As for sunday, i threw a small surprise b day party for ah peh. Tricked him into coming to settlers cafe under the pretence of a farewell for myself. Yeah so as a gang, except yc, we went to settlers cafe to chill and play board games.. actually we only played one game la, Cranium, which was really fun! we formed 3 teams of 2, and i must say.. my partnership with reuel does not only excel on the football pitch hahaha.. we share some Zi-Zi telepathy! not surprisingly, we came out winners heheheh.. i mean, the winning game says it all la. I was supposed to use the plastersine to mould and reuel wud hav to guess wat it was.. the hint was 'plant'. the timer starts, and i juz mould the stem, ready to break-off some bits to mould other parts when he shouts,' cactus'! its crazy la. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay long, i had to leave so did ah peh. so we cut the cake and left. could tell ah peh was pretty touched, which left me real gratified. He even said, my first cake in 3yrs haha. to think he didn't suspect a thing till the cake came out hahaha. Anyways, after dat went to jumbo at east coast to eat with my extended family. one aunt bought me a new bag, while another got me a t-shirt and my grandma gave me a $300 dollar ang pao! heheheh... Which i've splashed on a really nice leather jacket frm zara.. in the end considered lugi la, cuz initially, my mum said she wudn't mind buyin me a jacket but after the ang pao she changed her tune hahaha.. saying i dun need so much sing dollars now hahaha. oh wells, they're paying for my education, which i'll forever be indebted. Yesterday, met up with rachel. we aren't close but i made it a pt to meet her becuz i'll be missing her 21st, juz one day after i fly. So i thought we'll indulge in some nostalgia by returning to essential brews (she brought me there when we first met). Their food is surprisingly ok, a little pricy but not entirely a waste of money. We chatted for awhile, but i didn't want to take up too much oif her time. could tell she was tired and still had work to finish. And finally, met up with sharon today for dinner. ate at the wisma foodcourt. she intro-ed me this famous stall. i had the hokkien mee while she had the char kuey teow. Both were gd, the time spent waiting was definitely worth it! haha.. After dinner, we walked to borders so i could get yet another copy of 'night', all part of my redemption plan! hahaha. she kept probing abt claire, but i wud keep playing things down, which i'm tryin to do for the record! haha.. but she cannot fight la, once she asks i'll juz shoot back abt mr donald duck den she'll diam diam hahaha. ok its quite late oredi.. must start turnin in early! tmr i'll be having drinks (supposedly my treat haha) and supper with the soccer guys and finally buffet lunch with Xy, my redemption plan and dinner at hv with teresa on thurs! ciao!

I say NOT WISE AT ALL!!!!! forgot to inculde this in my previous entry.. stupid wisma atria closed their underground link to the mrt!!! now u hav to go up to the ground level and enter thru the main entrance at level 2!! its super duper irritating, especially when u want to cross over to scotts rd etc.. must go up and down, so leh chey! Im pretty sure this new format is to boost the human traffic along the corner units juz above the link, which were neglected cuz most peeps dun not take dat escalator up. but for dat few units, they've effectively inconvenienced everyone! we're all so acustomed to the old route.. arrgghh!

My calves are aching!!! oh manz.. i've really been lazy'n on my arse way too much! wat to do.. doctor's orders haha. well, ok.. i did walk ard non-stop from 230 onwards in orchard.. and i didn't sit on the train to boon lay! so dats abt 4hrs w/o restin my legs? not dat bad la i guess.. haha

Went to boon lay to catch 'World trade centre'. its not too bad.. my eyes swelled up a couple of times but they wud cut to the nxt scene whenever i was juz abt to cross the treshold! haha.. anyways it was good to meet up with the gang again, too bad i forgot my camera.. super wasted.. i brought a bag today la.. hopefully we can meet this sun again, probably the last for the near future... haiz.. a little over a wk left... manz.. i'm like feelin empty these days.. numb.. like a part of me has oredi started to fade away.. i dun want to feel this way! i want BRENNAN to be at adelaide, not some forlorn shadow of myself who's left some of his spirit at home in s'pore! arrggh! i must regain my excitment i had a few months ago! my new chapter in life awaits! my path to a career in psychology!

Oh ya, i was in the shower and it occurred to me: i have 2 goals to achieve at adelaide 1. advance my education, carve a career in psychology and 2. find a gf. the thing is.. i couldn't decide which had higher priority! haha
